In May 2019, I was invited to Frankfurt to join FAZIT Communication GmbH (a member of the F.A.Z.-Gruppe). In a personal conversation with Christina Dier (editor-in-chief), we discussed the concept of location-independent work.
In the Frankfurter Allgemeine Publishing Special, the focus was “New Work – The Future of Work”, which was developed in cooperation with the Freistaat Sachsen and the Sächsische Staatskanzlei, under the coordination of Ketchum Pleon GmbH, Dresden. Contact was also established via Ketchum Pleon. In the summer of 2013, I was working in Dresden for five weeks as an art director and worked on the “So geht Sächsisch” campaign in the beautiful KP Villa in Blasewitz. More about this in “5 weeks in Dresden“.
From a nice hour and a half conversation, I ended up with a one-page interview in which I shared some insights into my workdays as well as the concept of the “digital nomad” and its relationship to the “hammock community”, which is always important to me. To me, working online from the most extraordinary places in the world still means being an entrepreneur and paying taxes, insurances, etc. as required in Germany.
Thanks to Christina Dier and her team, Ketchum Pleon Dresden and the Free State of Saxony for the interview!
